A revolutionary 150 lb carbon-fiber roof-top tent engineered specifically for Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans. Its insulated structural shells, self-organizing fabric, and clean interior access create a true four-season sleeping system without the bulk and complexity of a conventional roof-top tent.

Structural performance

Carbon fiber strength with an insulated PMI core.

Both the upper and lower shells use carbon-fiber-reinforced face sheets bonded around a closed-cell PMI structural foam core. The carbon skins carry tension and compression while the lightweight core stabilizes the panel and increases bending stiffness. The result is a rigid, low-mass structure that also helps interrupt heat transfer through the roof and sleeping platform.

Weather-responsive construction

RoamLabX SEAL Stitch Technology.

The tent fabric is continuously stitched using water-swellable corespun thread. Absorbent outer fibers expand when exposed to water, helping occupy the needle-hole pathway, while anti-wicking construction helps limit water migration along the seam.

No exposed seam-sealant bead: the sealing action is integrated into the stitching itself, eliminating a conventional surface-applied seam treatment that can dry out, crack, peel, or become a long-term leakage concern.

Effortless operation

The fabric knows where to go.

An invisible support and fabric-management structure is integrated into the tent body. A gentle push helps deploy the tent into place. To close it, pull the top down and the fabric organizes itself, leaving only the two locking straps to secure. Each strap is rated to 150 lb.

Vehicle-specific installation

Engineered around the Sprinter roof structure.

Installation is comparable to installing a roof fan plus a roof rack. The hatch cutout is positioned between the first and second ceiling ribs, so no structural roof rib needs to be cut. The tent body bolts to the factory roof-rail mounting system.

  • Qualified first-time installation shop: approximately 5 hours.
  • Integrated roof rack and tent system fits Sprinter 144 and 170 high-roof models.
  • Not compatible with the Sprinter 144 low roof due to roof-rail width.

Can I add solar panels, fans, or other roof accessories?

Yes. The system is designed to accommodate solar panels, ventilation fans, light bars, and many common roof-mounted accessories. Final compatibility depends on accessory dimensions, placement, wiring, total load, and the selected mounting hardware.

Can the tent support top rails or crossbars?

Yes. Optional top rails can support compatible crossbars for equipment such as storage boxes, traction boards, and other lightweight adventure gear. Accessory weight must be considered when selecting gas struts and operating the tent.

Can the gas struts be upgraded?

Yes. Higher-force gas struts can be custom ordered when additional rooftop equipment is planned. The correct strut specification depends on the weight and position of the added load.

How easy is installation?

The entry hatch installs similarly to a roof ventilation fan, while the tent assembly bolts to the factory roof-rail mounting system like a roof rack. The engineered hatch opening sits between the first and second ceiling ribs, so a structural roof rib does not need to be cut. Allow approximately 3 hours for an experienced tent installation shop or approximately 5 hours for a qualified shop completing its first installation.

Is a Ford Transit version coming?

A Ford Transit-compatible version is planned for Q2 2026. Please contact RoamLabX to confirm current availability and vehicle fitment before ordering.

Can I open and close the tent from inside the van?

Yes. The tent can be deployed, closed, and accessed through the included interior entry hatch, providing greater comfort, privacy, and security without requiring an exterior ladder.

What is the total system weight?

The complete system weighs approximately 150 lb, depending on configuration and installed accessories.

Is a 170-inch wheelbase version available?

The tent itself is offered in one size. A dedicated 170-inch-wheelbase roof-rack configuration is available, allowing the same tent system to fit both Sprinter 144 and 170 high-roof models.

Can the tent be mounted rear-facing?

No. The tent is engineered as an integrated system with its aerodynamic front fairing and must be installed in the specified forward-facing orientation.

Can a roof-top ventilation fan be installed in the carbon-fiber shell?

Yes. A properly sized opening can be made in the carbon-fiber sandwich panel for a compatible roof fan. Because this modifies a structural composite panel, layout, reinforcement, edge sealing, wiring, load clearance, and waterproofing should be evaluated and completed by a qualified professional. Contact RoamLabX before cutting to confirm the approved location and installation requirements.

As a crazy cat mom, I am very particular with the toys and treats and enrichment that I get for my girls, and especially for Reinette who has a lot of extra needs, and she uses it every day. I mean EVERY. DAY. Sometimes we get toys or beds or trees for the cats that they don't use until we move them somewhere that they realize oh hey I like it in this spot, wherever we put this scratcher, books of the girls will find it and use it immediately. If I can't find one of the cats, I'll just rub my handle on it and the sound that it makes will call them to me. It's astounding. Even my cat that doesn't like to be brushed loves this scratcher. I bought it for a ranette because she loves being brushed and she steals my hair brushes and she brushes her face on them by herself so it was a perfect gift for her, but our other cat you can't come near her with a brush. I ordered this for my 2year old, 55lb Staffy Pitt mix. She’s usually pretty rough on toys. She seems to either destroy them after 15 minutes, or, in a few instances, decides that she likes them enough to treat them more gently, in which they last for months or longer. I have no idea how she chooses, but in this case, she pretty much immediately ripped off part of an ear, but then, and since that time, has played and chewed on it without causing further damage. The toy is pretty adorable and looks and feels well made. It’s not constructed with a super durable material like some toys made for aggressive chewers are, but it’s also not marketed as a toy for aggressive chewers, so the material used is appropriate. The fabric feels dense and of a high quality, and the stitching looks to be of a high quality as well. I chose the 8-inch version in pink, and I’m happy with this size. It’s not too big, nor too small, and is easily portable. It arrived smashed up in a small bag, and I thought maybe it would be deformed when I took it out, but it wasn’t. It unfolded right away and then maintained its normal shape perfectly. Happy with this product, and after receiving it, I ended up ordering another, this time the 6-inch version, and while that is also a nice option, I like, and feel that the 8-inch version is a better deal. If this toy continues to last for a few more months, I would order another one, as my dog enjoys playing with it. It’s not her go to toy, but it is one of the few she keeps in playing rotation on a regular basis.
